From a 1930 Chevrolet Depot Hack from south India to Buick 8 from Varanasi, seventy-5 rare vintage cars and trucks carrying very pleased owners and other passengers rode from the iconic Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara to the huge Statue of Unity at Gujarat’s Kevadia on Thursday, enchanting persons alongside the way.
The practically 90-km ride was a symbolic gesture by vintage auto lovers to mark the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The AKAM-themed occasion on Thursday took place a day in advance of the opening of the 10th version of 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance which will be hosted from January 6-8 in the premises of the iconic palace in the heritage metropolis of Vadodara.
The Concours is currently being organised by 21 Gun Salute Heritage & Cultural Belief in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, and supported by Gujarat Tourism to enhance the ‘Incredible India’ brand, a spokesperson of the belief stated.
Titular king of the erstwhile Baroda State Samarjitsinh Gaekwad was among the the dignitaries also present on the situation, they mentioned.

Statue of Unity, a 182-metre construction of independence fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is touted as the world’s tallest statue.
